The Rotating Wall Machine, a basic plasma physics experimental facility, is a device that has been constructed to study ideal and resistive magneto-hydrodynamic instabilities under variable boundary conditions, including that of differentially rotating conducting walls.
RWM is funded by the Department of Energy, grant DE-FG02-00ER54603 is being constructed to investigate "Stabilization of Resistive Wall Modes Using Rotating Liquid Metal Walls".
